The Foolish Lion and The Clever Bunny

One of the most heartwarming moments during our visit to Daya Ashram was sharing the story of The Foolish Lion and the Clever Bunny. As I began narrating the tale — of a cruel lion demanding daily meals from the forest animals, and a clever little bunny who ultimately outwits him by tricking him into jumping into a well — the room grew lively. The story, simple and playful, carried an age-old lesson: that cleverness and calm can overcome even the strongest force. What made it truly special was when one of the Sisters joyfully joined in, acting out the lion’s angry roars and the bunny’s wit. The room lit up with laughter. For a few minutes, it felt like we weren’t just sharing a story, but exchanging joy, wisdom, and a sense of childhood wonder. It reminded us how storytelling can bridge generations in the gentlest, most beautiful way. That moment turned a simple story into a shared memory we’ll all carry forward.
